How to restore accidently deleted FM data
Be attentive and careful when importing data, for you might accidentally delete even more data!
Save the backup file to your local computer
The FM databases are backuped every day at 13:00 and 23:00, previous versions will be deleted after one week. Nevertheless it is important to restore the database immediately after the incident, when as little changes as posssible are made already.
Connect to the vlp server, log in as user 'admin' with the standard server password and choose the sysraid volume. On the root level an alias to the backup folder is provided, the various backup versions are stored in subfolders. Copy the most recent version of the database in question from these folders to your local hard drive.
Export the deleted fields
If you can identify the corrupted records it is recommended to export these records only from the backup database; Make sure to include the ID and the deleted/accidently altered fields and export in FileMaker Pro format.
Restore the data
